Software Engineer - internal tools (Boston, MA)

Fernwood Rowan Facilities is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for contractor visits, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Turn requests about contractor visits into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with contractor visits. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Boston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
