Software Engineer - internal tools (Birmingham, AL)

Bluepeak Basin Care Services is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for family communication, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We train and promote from within. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with family communication. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Birmingham, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
