Software Engineer - internal tools (Austin, TX)

We are growing our team at Summit Vale Water Authority and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be internal tools. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about pipe repairs into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with pipe repairs. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Austin. • We reply to every applicant.
