Software Engineer - internal tools (Anchorage, AK)

Summit Haven Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Anchorage. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on internal tools. You would join a small organisation of about 50 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with premium billing. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Anchorage, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
