Software Engineer - integrations (remote)

Fernwood Quill Transit Planning is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on integrations for fare systems, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with fare systems. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
