Software Engineer - integrations (remote)

Bright Ashton Energy is an energy provider in Birmingham focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on integrations. You would join a small organisation of about 40 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about meter readings into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with meter readings. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Birmingham. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
