Software Engineer - integrations (remote)

Redstone Quill Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around Chicago. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on integrations. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about accessibility audits into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with accessibility audits. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
