Software Engineer - integrations (Oakland, CA)

Northwind Thistle Insurance is an insurance company in Oakland with claims and service teams, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our integrations. You would join a small organisation of about 77 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about claims into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with claims. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
