Software Engineer - integrations (Oakland, CA)

Silverline Mill Transit Planning Group plans bus and rail service for cities around Oakland. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on integrations. You would join a small organisation of about 38 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about fare systems into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with fare systems. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
