Software Engineer - integrations (Detroit, MI)

Harborlight Timber Learning Group is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on integrations for student accounts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about student accounts into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with student accounts. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
