Senior UX Designer - research and testing (Richmond, VA)

Harborlight Lantern Early Learning is looking for a Senior UX Designer. The job centres on research and testing for family communication, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Children come first and so does looking after the teachers. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Design for tasks around family communication that people do under time pressure. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Background in family communication. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Richmond, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
