Senior UX Designer - research and testing (Portland, OR)

Northwind Ember Early Learning is looking for a Senior UX Designer. The job centres on research and testing for classroom supplies, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Children come first and so does looking after the teachers. What you will do • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Background in classroom supplies. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
