Senior UX Designer - design systems (San Jose, CA)

Cedar Clear Transit Planning Group is a transit-planning firm in San Jose working with agencies and riders. We are hiring a Senior UX Designer to take on design systems. You would join a small organisation of about 122 people based in San Jose. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Design for tasks around route schedules that people do under time pressure. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Background in route schedules. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in San Jose. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
