Senior UX Designer - design systems (remote)

Lumen Yarrow Transit Planning helps transport agencies around Austin design routes and schedules. We are hiring a Senior UX Designer to take on design systems. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around service alerts that people do under time pressure. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Background in service alerts. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Austin. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
