Senior UX Designer - design systems (Kansas City, MO)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Press and adding a Senior UX Designer whose main responsibility will be design systems. Deadlines are tight and craftsmanship matters. What you will do • Design for tasks around press runs that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Background in press runs. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Kansas City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
