Senior UX Designer - design systems (Kansas City, MO)

Redstone Lakeside Transit Planning Group plans bus and rail service for cities around Kansas City, and we need a Senior UX Designer to lead our design systems. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around service alerts that people do under time pressure. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Background in service alerts. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Kansas City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
