Senior UX Designer - content design (Oakland, CA)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Sparrow Transit Planning and adding a Senior UX Designer whose main responsibility will be content design. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Design for tasks around service alerts that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in service alerts. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
