Senior UX Designer - accessibility review (Oakland, CA)

We are growing our team at Cedar Mill Transit Planning and adding a Senior UX Designer whose main responsibility will be accessibility review. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Design for tasks around fare systems that people do under time pressure. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in fare systems. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
