Senior Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

Fernwood Keystone Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Grand Rapids area. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to take on web applications. We invest in training. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about billing accounts into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with billing accounts. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Grand Rapids. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
