Senior Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Ashton Care Services and adding a Senior Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be web applications. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about family communication into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with family communication. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Virginia Beach. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
