Senior Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

Northwind West Transit Planning helps transport agencies around Nashville design routes and schedules, and we need a Senior Software Engineer to lead our web applications. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about ridership counts into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with ridership counts. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Nashville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
