Senior Software Engineer - web applications (Philadelphia, PA)

We are growing our team at Northwind Thistle Insurance and adding a Senior Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be web applications. You would join a small organisation of about 80 people based in Philadelphia. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about claims into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with claims. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Philadelphia, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
