Senior Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Redstone Keystone Energy delivers power and gas plans across the Rochester region, and we need a Senior Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Turn requests about meter readings into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with meter readings. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Rochester. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
