Senior Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Portland, OR)

Fernwood Cross Inspection Services is an inspection company in Portland with field technicians and lab staff, and we need a Senior Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. You would join a small organisation of about 178 people based in Portland. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about field inspections into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with field inspections. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
