Senior Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Philadelphia, PA)

Nova Amber Insurance Group sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Philadelphia, and we need a Senior Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about catastrophe response into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with catastrophe response. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Philadelphia. • We reply to every applicant.
