Senior Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Oakland, CA)

Lumen Timber Water Authority is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The job centres on reliability and monitoring for billing accounts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 93 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with billing accounts. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
