Senior Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Grand Rapids, MI)

Lumen Pine Insurance is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The job centres on reliability and monitoring for underwriting files, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 11 people based in Grand Rapids. What you will do • Turn requests about underwriting files into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with underwriting files. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Grand Rapids. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
