Senior Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Grand Rapids, MI)

Foxglove Ridge Learning Group is an education provider in Grand Rapids serving students and families. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. We follow the school calendar and we like people who like learning. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Turn requests about family communication into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with family communication. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Grand Rapids, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
