Senior Software Engineer - mobile experience (Rochester, NY)

Lumen Fox Learning Group runs classrooms and tutoring across the Rochester area. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to take on mobile experience. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Turn requests about learning materials into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with learning materials. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Rochester, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
