Senior Software Engineer - mobile experience (Grand Rapids, MI)

Northwind Wilder Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Grand Rapids, and we need a Senior Software Engineer to lead our mobile experience. You would join a large organisation of about 312 people based in Grand Rapids. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about customer complaints into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with customer complaints. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Grand Rapids. • We reply to every applicant.
