Senior Software Engineer - mobile experience (Detroit, MI)

Lumen Lakeside Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around Detroit, and we need a Senior Software Engineer to lead our mobile experience. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about ridership counts into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with ridership counts. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
