Senior Software Engineer - mobile experience (Detroit, MI)

Westbrook Ember Community Partners runs community programmes across Detroit, and we need a Senior Software Engineer to lead our mobile experience. We are small enough to know everyone's name. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about benefits enrolment into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with benefits enrolment. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
