Senior Software Engineer - mobile experience (Birmingham, AL)

Westbrook Sable Water Authority is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The job centres on mobile experience for billing accounts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Crews and office staff work closely together. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about billing accounts into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with billing accounts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Birmingham, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
