Senior Software Engineer - internal tools (Spokane, WA)

Ironwood Cobalt Water Authority is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for billing accounts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about billing accounts into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with billing accounts. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Spokane, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
