Senior Software Engineer - internal tools (San Jose, CA)

Westbrook Mill Transit Planning Group is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for route schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about route schedules into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with route schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in San Jose. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
