Senior Software Engineer - internal tools (Sacramento, CA)

Bright Junction Water Authority is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for capital projects, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 77 people based in Sacramento. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with capital projects. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Sacramento. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
