Senior Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Redstone Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Austin and nearby communities. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to take on internal tools. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about capital projects into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with capital projects. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Austin. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
