Senior Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Westbrook Maple Insurance provides coverage to households and businesses around Honolulu. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to take on internal tools. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Honolulu. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
