Senior Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Lumen Ember Learning Group is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for enrolment, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 251 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Turn requests about enrolment into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with enrolment. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Philadelphia. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
