Senior Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Harborlight Orchard Telecom provides broadband and phone service around Buffalo. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to take on internal tools. You would join a large organisation of about 555 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Turn requests about outage reports into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with outage reports. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Buffalo. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
