Senior Software Engineer - internal tools (Portland, OR)

Rivermark Wilder Insurance Group provides coverage to households and businesses around Portland. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to take on internal tools. Claims teams work together and share what they learn. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Turn requests about claims into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with claims. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
