Senior Software Engineer - internal tools (Portland, OR)

Rivermark Timber Early Learning Group operates neighbourhood childcare around Portland. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to take on internal tools. Children come first and so does looking after the teachers. What you will do • Turn requests about meal programmes into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with meal programmes. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Portland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
