Senior Software Engineer - internal tools (Oakland, CA)

Greenridge Birch Telecom provides broadband and phone service around Oakland, and we need a Senior Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. You would join a small organisation of about 80 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about customer tickets into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with customer tickets. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
