Senior Software Engineer - internal tools (New Orleans, LA)

Ironwood Amber Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around New Orleans, and we need a Senior Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. You would join a small organisation of about 157 people based in New Orleans. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about school calendars into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with school calendars. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in New Orleans. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
