Senior Payroll Specialist - multi-state payroll (remote)

Northwind Timber Construction is a Grand Rapids contractor with project managers, trades and support staff. We are hiring a Senior Payroll Specialist to take on multi-state payroll. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. What we are looking for • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. • Two or more years of payroll experience. • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. Nice to have • Payroll certification. • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Grand Rapids. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
