Senior Payroll Specialist - multi-state payroll (Detroit, MI)

Fernwood Rowan Banking Services Group is a community-focused bank in Detroit serving households and small businesses, and we need a Senior Payroll Specialist to lead our multi-state payroll. We promote from within and train well. What you will do • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. What we are looking for • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. • Two or more years of payroll experience. Nice to have • Payroll certification. • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
