Senior Operations Manager - vendor management (remote)

Fernwood Vista Manufacturing manufactures parts and assemblies at its Rochester plant, and we need a Senior Operations Manager to lead our vendor management. Many of our supervisors started on the floor. What you will do • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Track performance measures for tooling and act on them. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Experience with machine downtime. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Rochester. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
