Senior Operations Manager - vendor management (Portland, OR)

Lumen Quarry Farms grows and distributes produce from farms near Portland, and we need a Senior Operations Manager to lead our vendor management. Weather sets the schedule, and we plan around it. What you will do • Track performance measures for packing house output and act on them. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Experience with harvest schedules. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Portland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
