Senior Operations Manager - throughput and quality (remote)

Westbrook Fern Freight is a Milwaukee logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch. We are hiring a Senior Operations Manager to take on throughput and quality. You would join a small organisation of about 26 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Track performance measures for customer tracking and act on them. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Experience with carrier rates. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Milwaukee. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
