Senior Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (Rochester, NY)

Fernwood West Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Rochester, and we need a Senior Operations Manager to lead our scheduling and capacity. You would join a large organisation of about 644 people based in Rochester. What you will do • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Track performance measures for dock schedules and act on them. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with carrier rates. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Rochester. • We reply to every applicant.
